Friendship day 2

I know some of you celebrate friendship day today, so I wanted to join you by sharing this poem that Andre wrote to me the day we celebrated friends’ day here. He’s a sweetheart.

I left it in the original language, but note that I added a link to an online translator on each sidebar (sorry, I can’t use java stuff here, so there’s just the link).

Aren’t I the luckiest?  LOL I know, I’m sure you’re all surrounded by wonderful people wherever you’re. Don’t lose the chance to spend a wonderful day with them. Friendship is indeed one of the most beautiful things we have in this world. What cool things are you planning to do?

Happy friendship day… again!

Andre… ti volgio molto bene.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY!!!

On this very special day I’d like to wish you all have a great day.

I’d like to thank particularly to all my online friends who make an everyday effort to make the friendship work.

Thank you people of the tatting community, for letting me be a part of it.

Thank you Andre, for being such a special friend and sharing with me so much.

Thank you of course to all my friends who live here!!!

Love you all!!

Verito

Insertion and edging

This is an insertion I recently did. I like its density. I did it faster than I thought, with a thread #30. It’s a design from N. Ellison.

And this… is one of my first edgings (or is it the first?) which I tatted in a towel a long time ago but never finished it until now. And the only thing left to do was to finish the threads. It looks like a first edging, I find a lot of “things” in it now, but ahhhh… I like it, I like it, I did it when I was a beginner and it took me several days… I love it just for that. :-) It’s a design from Dillmont’s “Tatting” made in size 60 I think.

Doily tat-along 4

I’ve also done some more progress with the doily, and before this starts to look like a photolog I’ll tell its little story. When I get to class early and have to sit and wait, when I’m sitting at the odontologist’s waiting room, when I’ve just come back from class and need to take those five minutes to relax before going on, I pick the doily and try to do a little something. But lately this pretty doily started to be a bit problematic: it doesn’t want to keep its shape. It’s a total rebel! Yes, I did try pressing it. Still doesn’t want to listen to me. :-( And the chains don’t look like I expected, so I was going to take the picture: it was going to be the picture showing it after the scissor had split it into two or more parts. He! That would teach her! But then I just took a deep breath, thought ‘this is my first doily’, looked at it again and finally forgave its life…

Motifs

Long time since my last post… Well, I didn’t do much tatting, so there’s not much to tell about. Not much but…

This one I tried with a different thread, it’s like size 2 (ok, maybe about size 20) and a little difficult to work with, but I liked the colour. It’s medallion 135 from N. Ellison’s Lessons in Tatting.

I also wanted to tat a heart, so I started to search for a nice online pattern and I decided to do a Teri Dusenbury’s design:

What else? Ahh, this tiny nothing, made with the typical thread left on the shuttle:

Very simple, but it’s tiny and I find it cute. :-)

 I know, it’s not much… I told you!

Award

Ohhh! This has to be a good day…

This is something I hadn’t expected. I found the message from TattingChic that I had this award waiting for me…

Uhhh… the first and only award my weblog has!! :-D :-D :-D

I feel very honoured, it’s a very nice gesture! Thank you very much!

Now, let’s move on to the formalities. There’re rules, yes, there are:

~~~~~~~~~~~
Rules:
1) You have to choose 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award due to their creativity, design, interesting material and also contribute to the blogger community, no matter in what language they are.
2) Each award must have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog in order to be visited by everyone.
3) Each award-winner has to show the award and include the name and link to the blog that has given it.
4) The award winner and the one who has given it have to show the link of “Arte y pico” blog, so that everyone will know the origin of this award.
5) Show these rules.
 ~~~~~~~~♥♥♥♥~~~~~~~~

 So… rule number 1: Do I have to do it all at once? I don’t think I’ll break the rules if I choose them one by one, will I?

I’ll choose the first two right now: Carol and Ais.

Rule number 2 and rule number 4 would be: Arte y pico.

Rule number 3 and rule number 5: ↑↑ just did it above!! ↑↑ Could you see them? :-D

 Have a good time, thank you for your visit.

Uniform

This is the destiny the tatted laces and the centers of the doilies had. I think I should try to get better pictures of these. It’s a uniform for special occasions.

And here is a close up:

And this is the back belt, with the same pattern of the lace:

This is before ironing or anything!!

I’ve been busy with this but now that it’s over I can go back to my… pretty doily!!
